About Naya Elle James

Naya Elle James wrote and is currently co-producing Saving Number Seven, a feature film with Benaroya Pictures, slated to enter production in late 2026. Previously, she served as Associate Producer on several films with Ultramedia, an entertainment company specializing in the worldwide sales of artist-driven features. She is now developing a franchise of follow-up films for the iconic 10 Things I Hate About You with original director Gil Junger and producer Andrew Lazar, beginning with her co-written screenplay, 10 Things I Hate About Dating.

With a background in Corporate Development, M&A, and Strategic Execution, James brings a business-forward lens to every creative project, ambitiously seeking out local credits and incentives and structuring deals that match artistic ambition with economy. She specializes in packaging projects with integrity in a commercially viable way, so that worthy stories can gain momentum in production and exposure at market.

As a WGA writer and a story advisor, Naya champions character-driven narratives that explore love, identity, and the complexities of modern life. Her work is grounded in her deep love of relationships—romantic, familial, and generational—and in finding unexpected humor in emotional honesty. In both producing and writing, she crafts female characters who are ambitious, complicated, and deeply human. Her work is rooted in the belief that powerful storytelling begins with supporting bold, visionary artists, and creating the space for their voices to thrive.
